| Question Number 1: Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to request the following information for each hospital site within your trust Regarding your Holter monitor devices: • What is the approximate cost per Holter monitor and associated service or maintenance fees? • How much do you pay for analysis software per license? • Approximately how many tests do you perform per year using these monitors? • What is the current waiting time (in weeks) for Holter monitor fitting? • Do you currently experience a backlog in analysis? If so, how many tests are pending? | |
| Answer To Question 1: Response from Stroke: 4 x Novacor monitors on the Stroke Unit with associated hardware. Maintenance/Service Contract set up for 3 years at a cost of 35,007.45 exc. VAT. Response from Cardiology: • Approximate cost per holter - £18,000 • Analysis software - £27000 • ~4400 tests per year • ~10 weeks • Yes we experience a backlog. 170 tests currently waiting | |

Which company(ies) and products do you use? • What is the cost per Holter monitor or test under these outsourced services? • What is the average duration of each test? • How many tests do you carry out annually through outsourced providers? • Are these services under a formal contract? If yes, when is the contract due to expire? | |

Stroke services refer into cardiology • A direct to patient home service has not been fully explored before • Yes we are considering purchasing new monitors • Main challenges are increasing capacity and backlog of analysis | |
