SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½

We acknowledge the findings of the Care Quality Commission following its inspection of surgical services at SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ Hospital in September 2025 with the service rated good for being effective, caring and responsive and requires improvement for safety and being well led.  We accept the areas identified for improvement. We are pleased that the report also recognises the commitment of our staff and highlights areas of high-quality care being delivered for patients at SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ Hospital.

SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ Hospital is changing the way it provides GP-requested blood tests through its Pathology Department, which will improve patient experience and reduce waiting times. The booking system is now available for appointments from Monday 10th August, when the walk-in service will no longer be available for GP-requested blood tests. Alternatively, patients can arrange to have their blood test at their GP surgery or at the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) in Salisbury City Centre.

SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ has launched a public engagement process about plans to build a new Diagnostic and Surgical Hub (DASH) on SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ Hospital’s site. Subject to approval of the final business case, the new building will include five operating theatres, MRI and CT scanners, and four endoscopy rooms. The hub has been designed as the best opportunity to separate planned care from urgent and emergency services while making the most effective use of the hospital site. Odstock Health & Fitness Centre has been named ‘Gym of the Year', as voted by readers of the Salisbury Journal. The newspaper held a ballot for the public to choose the best health & fitness facility in the Salisbury area, which was a competition that celebrates venues that go the extra mile for their members, from expert coaching and inclusive classes to a strong community spirit and support for all ages and abilities. The Centre is sited on the grounds of SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ Hospital and includes two swimming pools, a fully-equipped gym, fitness classes, treatments, squash courts and meeting/function rooms.
