If there is a vacancy and they meet the criteria of 2 years’ experience they can apply and be interviewed.
They will require the competency for the area of skill required in the vacancy. During the first year they have skill competences they have to achieve in the area they have chosen to develop in.
They will have had appraisals during this time and encouraged to develop leadership skills through in house training and autonomy in their clinical role, which will include decision making and team leadership during theatre lists.
External candidates are expected in their supporting information on the application to describe their clinical skills, training since qualification and any leadership experience.
