| Question Number 1: I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information on cellular pathology (histology) services. Please provide all the data that you are able to. If some data is unavailable, a partial response is welcome 鈥� simply complete the years you can. Estimated figures are acceptable where exact numbers are not held; please indicate any estimate and an approximate error margin (%) in the comment鈥檚 column. Completion notes 鈥� All figures should relate to histopathology only, including routine immunohistochemistry. Please exclude non-gynaecological cytology, molecular pathology and other disciplines; if these cannot be separated, please note this in the comments. 鈥� 鈥淩eceived鈥� means the workload registered / booked into the laboratory during each calendar year (1 January 鈥� 31 December). This is workload received (a measure of demand), not workload reported or signed-out. 鈥� Total cases / requests received = the total number of histology specimens/requests received by the laboratory in that calendar year. 鈥� Total slides received = the total number of slides produced from that received workload, including levels, special stains and immunohistochemistry. 鈥� Where a figure for a given year cannot be provided, please note the reason in the free-text comments for that year.
