| Question Number 1: Monthly histopathology service finance and workforce 鈥� financial years 2023/24 to 2025/26 I am writing under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request monthly finance and workforce information for the histopathology (cellular pathology) service for the three financial years 2023/24 to 2025/26. This data is held by the finance department 鈥� including the staffing (WTE) figures held for budget monitoring 鈥� so I should be grateful if this request could be directed to finance. Trusts review finance and establishment monthly for budgetary purposes, so monthly figures should be retrievable; finance typically holds these more readily than the electronic staff record. Monthly figures are requested only for the three most recent financial years, when these data are most likely to be held. Please provide all the data that you are able to; a partial response is welcome 鈥� complete the months you can. Where a service improvement was not yet in use, please enter 0 (or 'not in use'). Estimates are acceptable; please flag any estimate and an approximate margin (%) in the comments. Completion notes and definitions 鈥� All figures relate to the histopathology (cellular pathology) service only. If the cost centre combines histopathology with other disciplines and cannot be separated, please provide the combined figure and note what it includes. 鈥� Each row is one calendar month within the financial year (April鈥揗arch). 鈥� Pay cost = staff pay incl. on-costs (employer NI and pension) for that month. Non-pay cost = consumables, reagents, maintenance, service contracts and other non-pay. 鈥� Outsourcing / insourcing spend = cost of histopathology work sent to / bought in from other providers that month. 鈥� Capital funding = capital spent that month (e.g., digital pathology, automation, AI software). Capital is often lumpy; report as incurred, and enter 0 for months with none. 鈥� Workforce (in-post WTE) by pay band, from the finance / budget ledger: pathologists (consultant or specialty/SAS doctor); AfC band 7/8 (senior/advanced and reporting BMS, lab management); AfC band 5/6 (biomedical scientists); AfC band 2鈥�4 (MLA/support and clerical/admin). 鈥� Where a figure for a given month cannot be provided, please note the reason in the comments. | Answer To Question 1: The attachment (i) shows all the revenue costs for Histology and Cytology over the period - unfortunately we are not able to separate the two components. The capital attachment (ii) shows the amount spend on capital for all Pathology over the period. We are unable to split down to the level of Histology.
