Following the governor election process, Andi Leach was elected as Public Governor for the New Forest constituency. His first term of office commenced on 1 Nov 2025.
Andi Leach听has lived in the New Forest area for almost their entire life, and has been a regular service user of Salisbury's听(and a volunteer at the Sustain & Reclaim Centre in 2013) throughout.
听
Andi has seen the hospital grow and shift back from the early days of the North building, through to the new DASH proposals of today - but remains proud that the hospital has retained the sense of camaraderie that makes Salisbury such a special place; even in the face of increasing challenges.
With a keen eye for improving the patient and carer experience, supporting those who would otherwise struggle to have their voice heard, and ensuring that the right, level-headed questions get asked at the right time, they do their best to be a voice of considered reason and oversight - but also of challenge to the status quo when it's clearly not working.
They bring a technical mindset from their career in the Broadcast Engineering and Software industries, with a deep understanding of system design (and the reasons why some things are set up as they are!).
Separately, Andi holds volunteer organising team roles at听Ringwood Repair Caf茅听and the听Electromagnetic Field听festival, is a Trainee Observer for the听Bournemouth & Dorset Institute of Advanced Motorists, and holds a support role at the听Mobile Phone Museum.
When they're not busy on a project or with work, you can usually find them plowing time into Japanese Arcade games, or taking things apart and putting them back together again (with all of the screws!).
As part of the Council of Governors' succession planning arrangements, Andi is shadowing Peter Russell in听their role as Lead Governor and working closely with Jane Podkolinski to develop the knowledge, skills and experience required to support the future continuity of the Lead Governor role.
