Sara鈥檚 association with Salisbury hospital goes back a long way. 聽Her involvement in the hospital originally came about when a friend was being treated in the Spinal Unit following a riding accident 聽She realised that after a career in the retail industry she had a desire to 'give back鈥� and has served the hospital in a variety of roles. 聽She stepped back after 2 terms as an elected governor to become a volunteer in the Chaplaincy Department. 聽She was recently elected to the South Wiltshire Rural Constituency to serve her third and final term as a governor in 2024.聽
She was a founder member of the committee of the hospital鈥檚 charity, the Stars Appeal, leaving the committee at the end of 2023.
Living in a small village she is well aware of the issues facing rural communities, including social isolation, vulnerable elderly residents with declining health and lack of transport.
Away from the hospital, Sara was elected as a district councilor for 7 years before Wiltshire became a Unitary Authority , was Chair of Governors at Leaden Hall School and is a very keen Bridge 聽player.
