In 1993, we opened a shop at the hospital鈥檚 main entrance, run by volunteers for the benefit of patients, their relatives and hospital staff, overseen by a professional manager and part-time supervisor. The shop was refurbished in late 2012 following changes to the main hospital entrance and it reopened selling a large range of traditional sweets and fudge, including sugar free sweets.
While staying mainly as a sweet shop we have added some products that include the My Trusty range, Notelets, cards and baby clothes knitted by some of our volunteers. We have also raised funds by taking our selection of sweets to other events such as Fetes and Fairs.
Now staffed entirely by volunteers, the shop is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
